How to Get Instant Energy Without Caffeine
Have you ever wondered how to get instant energy without caffeine?
I definitely have, especially a few years ago after I quit taking Adderall. I had zero energy and was BEYOND tired all day long. I would have 2 to 3 cups of coffee per day and sometimes even an energy drink (these were the days before I became a health coach!) I knew this much caffeine was not good for my long term health, but I had no idea how I could get instant energy without caffeine.
Over the years, I’ve discovered long term solutions to increase my energy (like incorporating more healthy fats into my diet and getting on the right types of supplements). But I’ve also come across a few quick fixes that can give you energy fast! Read on to learn how to get instant energy without caffeine!
How to get instant energy without caffeine!
Try a nootropic (aka smart drug)
Nootropics is an umbrella term for a class of chemicals — some naturally-occurring, some manmade — that give cognitive benefits to the human brain. Benefits of nootropics include the following:
Decreased brain fog
One nootropic that I love in B.LXR Brain Fuel by Beekeeper’s Naturals, which contains adaptogens and superfoods like Royal Jelly, Bacopa monnieri plant extract, and Ginkgo biloba leaf extract. This is one of my favorite ways to get instant energy without caffeine!
Listen to binaural beats
I use binaural beats every day in the morning during my meditation, but I just recently learned that certain binaural beats can help with energy! I like this track my Brainwave Power music, which contains the 3rd Schumann Resonance and stimulates the pineal gland. Listening to binaural beats for even a few minutes is an easy way to get instant energy without caffeine!
Alternatively, you could listen to a song that lights you the f*ck up! This doesn’t have to be a specific kind of music. Whatever music you LOVE that makes you feel more energetic!
Spend 10 minutes in direct sunlight
Spending at least 10 minutes in direct sunlight without sunglasses or sunscreen can help you to get instant energy without caffeine. Okay, Sharon, before you freak out - going out into the sun without sunscreen is OK!
In fact, I believe it’s necessary! Sunlight is important for so many biological processes, such as vitamin D production and supporting your circadian rhythm.
Moderate sunlight exposure helps improve your mood and focus by boosting the levels of the feel-good neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine. There’s also evidence that UV light can push melanocytes (the cells that produce dark pigment in skin) to release endorphins, a feel-good chemical. So sunlight is an instant energy and mood booster!
Of course, if you spend too much time in the sun you’re increasing your risk for skin cancer and premature skin aging. One recommendation is to spend 10 to 30 minutes in direct sunlight every day (in the morning if possible). If you start to burn, you’ve gone too long. Scale it back by a couple minutes next time.
Drink more water
Did you know that when you feel thirsty, you've already lost 2 to 3 percent of your body fluid? Even this mild dehydration can make you feel tired or lethargic: Your blood volume lowers, which means you don't get as much blood to your brain and your heart has to pump harder.
To get instant energy without caffeine, make sure you’re drinking enough water! Aim for half your body weight (in pounds) in ounces daily. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, that would be 75 to 150 ounces of water a day.
Stabilize your blood sugar
Hypoglycemia, also known as low blood sugar, can cause you to feel tired & sluggish. Instead of reaching for a candy bar filled with sugar, try to find a snack with a good amount of protein + healthy fat.
One of my go-to snacks is grass-fed beef jerky (grab them on Amazon > here).
You could also snack on nuts, like almonds, walnuts, or cashews.
Or make a protein shake! I really like hemp protein powder because it is a complete protein + has a good amount of fiber (which helps you to feel full longer!). You can grab the kind I use on Amazon > here. I also really like Bulletproof Collagen protein powder because it supports healthy skin, hair, nails, and joints! You can find it > here.
Embrace your inner yogi
You don’t have to wait for your weekly yoga class to practice deep breathing + stretching. One reason why many people have an energy deficit is because they’re taking such shallow breaths all the time and there isn’t enough oxygen flowing through the body and to the brain. Deep yoga breathing from the diaphragm gets blood pumping, which also may boost energy all day long. Stretching releases tension and also gets blood flowing. This is such an easy way to get instant energy without caffeine; I do it every day!
Drink a DECAF Bulletproof coffee
I know, I know… decaf coffee still contains a tiny bit of caffeine. But I still think this a great way to boost your energy without consuming the 100 mg of caffeine in a normal cup of coffee! The Bulletproof coffee recipe starts with brewing Bulletproof coffee beans (mold free and tested for toxins), then blending the coffee with brain octane oil and grass-fed butter or ghee.
Brain octane oil is 100% caprylic acid triglycerides from coconut oil. Caprylic acid, a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT), is an energizing, easy-to-digest quality fat. Brain octane oil turns into ketones, which suppress ghrelin (signals hunger) and enhance CCK (signals fullness). The ketones from brain octane oil also increase your metabolic rate, decrease the amount of fat you store, and burn the fat you already have. Lastly, the ketones from brain octane oil readily pass the blood brain barrier (BBB), providing your neurons with almost immediate access to energy. This helps to clear brain fog and promotes mental clarity.

Try cold thermogenesis
Thermogenesis is the process of heat production, and cold thermogenesis is heat production stimulated by exposure to cold temperatures. Examples of cold thermogenesis include face dunking, cold showers, compression shirt with ice, and ice baths. Researchers have even suggested a 3-minute long cold shower could be enough to combat some of the effects of chronic fatigue.
Use a chilled jade roller
Similar to tip #7, using a chilled jade roller can help give you instant energy because of its cooling effects. In addition, rolling it across your skin moves stagnant Qi (energy) and toxins. And don’t forget about the skin benefits, such as increasing levels of collagen and elastin in your skin!

Inhale some peppermint or eucalyptus essential oil
Both peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils promote deep breathing, and as I already mentioned above, deep breathing is directly connected to better energy. You can apply the essential oils to your wrist, but inhalation is going to be the best way to get instant energy!
Tap your thymus
Your thymus is located at center top of your chest, below the collar bone, between your breasts. When tapped it triggers the production of T-cells, boosts energy, relieves stress, and increases strength and vitality. In order to get an instant boost of energy, tap your thymus with your fingertips for 20 seconds, while slowly and deeply breathing in and out.
